Entri terPANJANG adik...fasal LAdy GagA!!!

Hye-All!!!...

Today and a few days back, I was listening to Lady Gaga's Born This Way... well maybe I have talked about this but this is the different sight about the song.

The tittle of the song is Born This Way and to me it is a good song but after I analyzed the lyrics of that song I am quite surprised but then individual interpretation of any written materials. That is all.Well, let me us my semantic and also discourse ability in interpret this written material well.. provided by Lady GaGa...hehehe

"Born This Way"

[Intro:]
It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up
'cause you were Born This Way, Baby

[Verse:]
My mama told me when I was young
We are all born superstars

She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir

"There's nothing wrong with loving who you are"
She said, "'Cause he made you perfect, babe"

"So hold your head up girl and you'll go far,
Listen to me when I say"

[Chorus:]
I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way

[Post-chorus:]
Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born-
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Don't be a drag -Just be a queen [x3]
Don't be!

[Verse:]
Give yourself prudence
And love your friends
Subway kid, rejoice your truth

In the religion of the insecure
I must be my self, respect my youth

A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M (Hey hey hey)
I love my life I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe yah (Love needs faith)

[Repeat chorus + post-chorus]

[Bridge:]
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Whether you're broke or evergreen
You're black, white, beige, chola descent
You're Lebanese, you're orient
Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied, or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
'cause baby you were born this way

No matter gay, straight, or bi,
lesbian, transgendered life,
I'm on the right track baby,
I was born to survive.
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made,
I'm on the right track baby,
I was born to be brave.

[Repeat chorus]

[Outro/refrain:]

I was born this way hey!
I was born this way hey!
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way hey!

Let analysed it!!!...

Intro :

In the first stanza, there are two pronoun. 'him and H-I-M'. Here, the first him refers to human (male) and the second H-I-M is referring to the God. But in that stanza also, there is lyrics saying that "Just put you paws up, 'cause we're born this way, baby". Here, it shows that the songwriter just do not want to care about the Creator and by interpreting it, it shows that the human are just want to live the lives according to their own ways without have any look about the human norm. Well, that is my interpretation on the first stanza, What about you?

Verse :

In the second stanza, the songwriter try to relate with the subject in the song with family relationship.  The songwriter said that by giving sentence right, 'my mama told me...' and here, to me, the songwriter tries to pamper and give good example of a mother who would give anything good to her child. The songwriter uses '..in the glass of boudoir', this, the songwriter wants to put the intimacy between mother and child. But in this stanza also, the songwriter seems want to blame the God of creating wrong people. Wrong people here means, gay, lesbian but to me, it is not God's mistake but it is come from our own. It is our job to carry out the God's test. It is our responsibility. Right?... Who agrees?.. Well what about you?

Chorus :

In the third stanza (Chorus), the songwriter says about we need to be confident with ourselves, no matter whether we are ugly or beautiful, God has created us at the best. Even if He created us with not-so-beautiful faces, still, we have our own talent and we have the ability that not others have. What we just need to do is, be confident and be bold, just do not care what other people said as long as it is not stray from the norm of religion. That is all. And also, we need to love ourselves, it is not that we can do anything to our bodies but we have to love ourselves be self-cautious. Love yourself.

Post-Chorus :

In the post-chorus, we are who who are. In this post-chorus, it is somehow tries to change the norm of life. Well, it is like, when people are gays, or lesbians or straights but the songwriter tries to convince that those people are on the right track but to me, there are always room for improvement and change. We need to see that in the clear crystal way, that is all.
In the sentence of 'Don't be a drag, just be a queen'. It show that, we cannot pretend or doing something that is not our nature. We just be who we are, if we are acting like a queen, then a queen that people would able to see.

Second Verse :

In the first stanza of the second verse, it says that we need to love ourselves first then we need to love our friends. Because, friends will know us and after they know us, they would not talk bad things about us but then, the no one from no where would talk bad things about us. It is ourselves to handle the things. But in the second stanza of the second verse, it says that 'In the religion of the insecure, I must be my self, respect my youth'. Here, the songwriter actually does not believe in religion because he/she said that the religion is insecure. insecure means not confident or sure. So, we just can easily assume that the songwriter does not believe in God. The subject in the song just want to be him/her self and give a good respect on the youth of his/hers. In the third stanza of the second verse, the controversial sentence that shows the obvious support of gays, lesbians, transgendered,bi is the sentence 'A different lover is not a sin, Believe capital H-I-M'. Here, to me, it is obvious by the word different, maybe you were wondering why the songwriter did not put 'A same lover is not a sin...', if he/she puts 'same', it would not have the artistic value to the lyrics. Different means not alike in character. So, it means here, from the semantic value, different from the norms, so, gays, lesbian and so on, are okay to love each other. That is my interpretation, I do not know about you.

Bridge :

In the bridge, for the first stanza, we actually can take the meaning because the songwriter stresses more on the normal life of living this world.

Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Whether you're broke or evergreen
You're black, white, beige, chola descent
You're Lebanese, you're orient
Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied, or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
'cause baby you were born this way

It says here that, we need to rejoice and love ourselves because we are what we are. It is like we need to accept who we are, We just need to, we have to.

In the second stanza of the bridge, here, it is obviously blaming the God by saying no matter what us the sexual orientation, it is like the songwriter is saying that people who become gays, lesbians and so on are born with it. Well, it is not, we can change it but it needs determination, that is all. because the sentence of 'I'm on the right track baby'. It indicates that what ever we are, we are on the right track.

Outro :

For the outro, it says and stressing on the sentence 'I was born this way'. Here, it indicates that the songwriter is really want to have the free life without tie to the religion rope.

Well3...what a long entry, this interpretation is from me, different people have different view of seeing thing, even me actually, well, i love this song it motivates me of becoming who I am. But we need to take consideration of everything because we do not want us to become too strayed away from the right path. That is all. hope you can catch a bit about my own views about this song.

Till then...

Muah2!!!

p/s: i am still listening to Lady Gaga's not that i will follow the meaning of the songs but hey, we have mind, good mind indeed, so, THINK!
